France’s ambition is to overtake the United Kingdom and become the European leader in financing technology companies.

“Our objective is to become the leading technological eco-system in Europe. We can consider that today we are number two since we have just overtaken the Germans but the British are still ahead of us,” said the Secretary of State for Digital Affairs Cedric O during a visit to London.

The Secretary of State, who has been in office for six months, came to meet French and British entrepreneurs, in particular to discuss the measures announced by President Emmanuel Macron. The French government has promised investments of €5 billion, thanks to financial institutions such as banks and insurance companies, to help companies in the technology sector emerge.
